a sustainability network for transition towns in SW Western Australia
This website is maintained by the Transition South West regional Networking Group. Like all transition initiatives, this is a free-flowing group of coordinating individuals . This particular regional network has five roles:

1. Carry out networking activities that are shared by all the SW Intiatives.
2. Identify projects that would benefit all Initiatives in the
regional network.
3. Cross fertilise ideas between SW Initiatives
4. Raise awareness of the Transition Network in the SW
5. Be a regional hub to support state-wide
and national Transition projects and branding.

​South-West Transition Initiatives Gathering is an opportunity for Transition groups from around the south-west and metropolitan WA to meet, share their experiences, ideas and opportunities for networking.

All Australian Transition Initiatives are listed in this linked directory. You can search keywords
and filter the list to show only
'Official' or 'Mulling' initiatives,
or a certain community type.

On the same site there is an initiatives map (which is gradually filling up as initiatives add their locations). There is also a growing list of National Hubs - but not yet Oz.

Transition Oz is a blog for, by, and about those idealistic and passionate souls who are working to transition Australia to a brighter, more resilient, more sustainable future... In 2007, the UK-based charity Transition Network was founded to disseminate the concept of transition and support communities around the world as they adopted the transition model

The Transition South West Initiatives Network
​
involves Transition Network Initiatives in SW Australia - Albany, Kwoorabup Denmark, Margaret River, Balingup, Pemberton, Bridgetown, Bunbury, and other initiating groups in the region.
Like many other communities around the world, they have started up projects in areas of food, transport, energy, education, housing, waste, arts etc. as small-scale local responses to the global challenges of climate change, economic hardship and shrinking supplies of cheap energy. Together, these small-scale responses make up something much bigger, the TRANSITION NETWORK, and help show the way forward for governments, business and the rest of us.
